Open walls, exposed metal framing and lack of electrical wiring and plumbing describe an incomplete building at the Grand Junction Regional Airport. Like countless other construction projects that are started, but never finished, the airport authority is looking for funding ideas on completing the project, including public-private partnerships.
Last week the authority issued a request for information to complete the abandoned building after investing $4.1 million into the existing shell. The request for information is to hear back from interested parties regarding the prospective future of the building and how the building will be completed and maintained.
