Greenup County, Ky., is welcoming a new a multi-billion dollar neighbor: Braidy Industries. The aluminum rolling mill that will employ 550 people faces local infrastructure challenges, however.
Greenup County Economic Development Director Bobby Allen has started advocating for new and improved roads, bridges, internet access and cell towers to accommodate the needs of the growing community. The encouragement of new infrastructure surrounding the county and Braidy Industries may create impactful opportunities for public-private partnerships.
Currently, the county looks to introduce new restaurants and hotel chains as the need for developed businesses rise, along with new job opportunities.
