A new coalition has been created by fourteen mayors and CEO’s to find a solution to a lack of affordable housing in cities across the United States. The Mayors & CEO’s for U.S. Housing Investment coalition hopes to launch three public-private partnership programs and combat federal funding cuts to housing programs.

A double-edged sword, declining affordable housing programs affects a city’s economic development opportunities. Lack of affordable housing can hinder local economic prosperity, making it more difficult for companies to recruit employees.
