Some say that technology is the future, and others say that the future is in the hands of public-private partnerships. Pittsburgh has combined the two to advance the city’s growing tech economy.
InnovatePGH is a partnership with the Pittsburgh Council for Higher Education that will launch a talent search initiative to serve the city’s tech economy with help from the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University. The partnership also welcomes civic leadership from local government entities.
“InnovatePGH is a platform for propelling the city forward in powerful ways,” Mr. Gallagher said in a prepared statement. “This new command center will enable us to move swiftly and strategically to turn ideas into innovations, and it will fuel a tech revolution that the University of Pittsburgh is honored to help lead.”
